"POOR LIL MOSE" (35) OUTCAULT COLOR LITHO PAGES FROM 1902 BOOK

Individual Pages from book of Sunday Comics by R.F. Outcault (1863-1928), later creator of "Buster Brown", these from the New York Herald newspaper, scarce Blackiana, published in 1902 for the Grand Union Tea Company of New York. Individual pages are individually shrink wrapped over foam core. 9" when stacked.

Of the total of (36) leaves, (22) are undamaged, (14) damaged, including title page, mostly toned spots, a few w/ chips or small edge tears.

Richard Fenton Outcault is considered the father of the American comic strip, introducing his first important feature, "The Yellow Kid," in the New York World in 1895. "Poor Li'l Mose" ran in the New York Herald from 1900 to 1902.
