Romanesque style, well proportioned lathe-turned slate shallow footed bowl having gilt bronze and silver banding, marked F. Barbedienne, with Minerva head lugs and looped leafy Bacchus head handles, late 19th century, Paris.

Professionally repaired crack and chip.

Barbedienne, a famed sculptor, also ran one of the busiest foundries in Paris during Le Belle Epoch. He had over 300 employees at his workshop located at 63 Rue de Lancry in Paris.
