CIVIL WAR PAY BOOK - 1862 Pay Book for A Company, 137th Regiment, Infantry, New York Volunteers, 3rd Brigade, 2nd (Geary's) 'White Star' Division, 12th Corps, enlisted out of Binghamton and Sanford, containing the short entries, mostly July and August, some November, (mustered Sept 25, 1862) for seventy-seven soldiers, five of whom would be KIA at Gettysburg a year later, four of those five have actually signed for their pay, in leather bound journal with 'Company Clothing' label, 15 1/2" x 10", good condition. The KIA were Sgt. Charles F. Fox, Privates Richard Rush, Dean Swift, Peter Hill and Oliver English.
