1708 GRANT OF ARMS SIGNED BY SIR JOHN VANBRUGH (1664 - 1726) English architect and dramatist, perhaps best known as the designer of Blenheim Palace and Castle Howard. Vanbrugh was appointed Clarenceux King of Arms in March 1704. Thus his signature at the bottom of this document granting the coat of arms to Richard and Samuel Atkinson.
